Platts adjusts ICMS tax rate in Brazil ethanol assessments

Following the approval of biofuels bill PEC 15/2022, implemented July 15, 2022, to lower the existing ICMS tax on ethanol by the same ratio as the tax savings for gasoline, Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has updated its Brazilian ethanol assessments to reflect a 9.57% ICMS tax rate, effective and including July 18, 2022.

The affected assessments are:

AAXNQ00 - Hydrous Domestic Ex-mill Ribeirao with taxes (Real/cu m)

AAXNN00 - Anhydrous Domestic Ex-mill Ribeirao (Real/cu m)

AAXNR00 - FOB Santos/Paranagua Hydrous ethanol ($/cu m)

AAXOA00 - Hydrous ethanol (Raw sugar equiv)

The assessments appear on Platts Biofuels Alert (PBF) Page 223, in the Biofuelscan, and in the Platts price database under the codes above.
