SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to update C+F Japan gasoil specification

Folowing industry feedback, Platts will lower the C+F Japan gasoil assessment to 10 parts per million of sulfur from September 1, 2014, in line with the current motor fuel specification in the country. Platts currently reflects C+F Japan gasoil cargoes with a sulfur content of 50 ppm. According to Japan's Ministry of Environment, Japan minimum sulfur content for gasoil is 10 ppm sulfur. The specification for motor fuel can be found at www.env.go.jp/air/car/nenryou/kisei.pdf Platts assessments are designed to best reflect market norms for specifications. All bids, offers and trades published through the Market on Close assessment process likewise should reflect standard market norms.
