Platts to hold Asia copper methodology and pricing workshop in Singapore Aug. 14

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will hold a workshop covering Asia copper methodology and pricing in Singapore Aug. 14.

Platts copper concentrate treatment and refining charges (TC/RCs) dipped to -$0.70/mt and -0.07 cents/lb respectively on April 22, 2024, the first time the index has turned negative since Platts began assessing TC/RCs in February 2021.

The sharp fall in TC/RCs comes amid tighter concentrate supply and expanding smelting capacity in Asia. Spot market activity also grew as sellers turned away from term contractual sales, while more miners sought to lock in prices for 2025-2027 output to traders.

Join us Aug. 14 for a deep dive into the Platts copper concentrate pricing methodology and an overview of recent market developments in copper concentrate and refined copper.
