Platts proposes to begin publishing daily assessments for three very large crude carrier routes loading out of the Caribbean. The new assessments would be launched with effect from October 1, 2013. Platts proposes to publish assessments for Caribbean-Singapore, Caribbean-China and Caribbean-West Coast India routes on the basis of 270,000 mt crude cargoes. The assessments will reflect VLCCs carrying Colombian Castilla Blend, Venezuelan Merey 16, Mexico's Maya, Brazil's Marlim and Roncador grades to Singapore, China and the West Coast of India. Platts proposes to publish assessments for VLCCs carrying the abovementioned crudes as they have been the most sought after heavy, sour grades of crude from Latin America heading to the East in recent years. The new assessments would add to Platts existing VLCC assessment portfolio. Please send any feedback by September 2, to europe_crude@platts.com, tankers@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com. For written comments, please provide a clear indication if comments are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing. Platts will consider all comments received and will make comments not marked as confidential available upon request.
