Following market feedback, S&P Global Platts will launch a new US Gulf Coast clean Medium Range demurrage assessment, basis 38,000 mt, effective September 1, 2020.
Platts first proposed this new assessment in a subscriber note published June 17: https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/061720-platts-proposes-to-launch-fob-usgc-clean-mr-demurrage-assessment-sep-1.
The new assessment will reflect the daily lump-sum demurrage rate for standard voyages on Medium Range clean tankers loading on the US Gulf Coast, typically loading 38,000 mt cargoes 3-10 days forward.
The assessment, and associated monthly average, will be published in dollars/day.
These assessments will be published on Platts Global Alert pages 1912 and 1913; on Platts Shipping Alert pages 2320 and 2321; in the Clean Tankerwire; and in the Platts price database under the codes above.
Please send any further feedback or questions to shipping@spglobal.com and pricegroup@spglobal.com.
