Platts to assess Australia-India bulk freight

Platts will launch on July 5, 2010, daily spot price assessments of dry bulk freight between Australia and India, reflecting that major trade route for coking coal.

Platts will assess standard Panamax class vessels loading 7-45 days forward from day of publication from east Australian main ports (Gladstone, Dalrymple Bay, Hay Point, Abbott Point, Brisbane, Newcastle and Port Kembla, normalized to Hay Point port, Queensland state) to India main ports (Paradip, Visakhapatnam and Haldia, normalized to Paradip port, Orissa state in eastern India).

Close-of-market data for these assessments will also be 18:30 Singapore time (1030 GMT), coinciding with Platts' other daily coking coal and dry bulk freight assessments.

These assessments will be published in Platts Metals Alert page 1051, Steel Markets Daily, Coal Trader International, International Coal Report, and Platts Dispatch.
