Platts proposes to amend the name of its UK Continent-East VLCC freight assessment, which reflects fixtures for vessels taking fuel oil from Rotterdam, Netherlands to Singapore, with effect from January 2, 2017.
Currently, the assessment is published in Dirty Tankerwire as "UK Continent-East" and on Platts Global Alert fixed page MH1970 as "UKC Singapore". Platts proposes to amend the nomenclature for this assessment to "Rotterdam-Singapore" in all sources to better reflect the actual route that is being assessed.
There will be no change to the methodology for this assessment under this proposal. The assessment would also be published under the same codes: AASLA00 for lumpsum and AASKY00 for $/mt equivalent.
Please send all comments or questions by July 18, 2016 to tankers@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com.
For written comments, please provide a clear indication if comments are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing. Platts will consider all comments received and will make comments not marked as confidential available upon request.
