Platts will not be introducing NWE, UK net HDPE assessments

Following an internal review and industry feedback, Platts will not be introducing weekly net contract price assessments for Northwest Europe and the United Kingdom high density polyethylene.

Platts has determined that gross pricing mechanism remains prevalent in the European HDPE contract discussions and the market has not considered transitioning to net contract pricing yet, unlike in the European PET and polystyrene markets.

Platts will maintain the publication of the current gross assessments.

If net pricing data is received, it will be normalized to gross values using typical discounts and rebates reflecting standard volumes, delivery and payment terms.
