Platts adjusts FOB West Europe sulfuric acid specifications July 2

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has refined the specifications of its FOB West Europe sulfuric acid assessment, effective July 2.

In a bid to narrow the scope of the assessment, Platts has changed the quantity specification of the FOB West Europe sulfuric acid assessment (FSAWA04) from the current "minimum of 6,000 mt" to a new quantity range of "18,000-20,000 mt."

Platts has also narrowed the assessment's location specification to better reflect the most liquid part of the spot market, with Huelva in Spain as the basis location.

The price is assessed as a single number "close" value with a standardized range -- $1/mt above (high) and below (low) the "close" assessment.
