CFR SMOP China and India (Contract) price format update

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has updated the price format for its existing CFR SMOP China (contract) FKCIJ04 and CFR SMOP India (contract) FKCIK04 assessments, effective July 3.

Based on market practice, Platts now publishes the CFR SMOP China (contract) and CFR SMOP India (contract) prices as a single-number close value, instead of the current low- and high-range format. All other specifications and methodology related to these assessments remain unchanged.

For example, currently, CFR SMOP China (FKCIJ04) is assessed at $346-$346/mt CFR on a given date; after the update, it will reflect as $346/mt CFR.
