S&P Global Platts is amending a selection of its Reference Standard metadata for regions for several assessments, with effect from July 8, 2020.
Platts Reference Standard data represents various criteria, or attributes, that are included as metadata for price assessment symbols. The UNSD M49 and ISO 3166 standards specify several terms that are covered within this metadata, and Platts is now ensuring that all regional attributes of assessments adhere to these standards.
The amended PRS attributes are exclusively limited to: Delivery Region, Delivery Region Basis, Originating Region, Originating Region Basis, for the selected assessments.
This update will result in minimal spelling changes within the metadata (e.g. East Africa to Eastern Africa) and will in no way affect any assessment's formal symbol name or description.
