Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will launch a daily FOB NOLA granular urea assessment, effective Aug. 1, 2025.
The daily assessment will better capture day-to-day price movements in the urea market. The changes will also align Platts' daily and weekly coverage, providing more granular pricing information in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The specifications for the assessment will be as follows:
Quality: 46% N, granular urea in bulk.
Quantity: 1,500 st
Basis and location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Timing: Product to be loaded from 8 to 30 days forward.
Frequency: Daily
Unit of assessment: $/st
Timestamp: 16:30 Sao Paulo, following the Sao Paulo publishing calendar
Simultaneously, Platts will increase the frequency of its current weekly Granular Urea FOB NOLA US Domestic Ston (prompt-7 days) assessment (FGUNE04), effective Aug. 1, 2025.
Platts will change the assessment's frequency from weekly to daily, updating its name to Urea NOLA-7 Daily. Platts will also clarify the timing to reflect that the assessment reflects the "Product to be loaded from 1 to 7 days forward" from the assessment date, rather than "shipment seven days forward" at present.

The first weekly range will be published on Aug. 7, 2025.
