Platts renames Platts NEAT Coal Index to Platts NEAT from July 1

S&P Global Platts renamed Platts North East Asia Thermal (NEAT) Coal Index as Platts North East Asia Thermal (NEAT) from July 1, 2020.

The renaming is to provide a better reflection of Platts NEAT as a calculated assessment with limited spot liquidity.

The underlying methodology for the Platts NEAT assessment will remain unchanged. Platts first proposed making the change from June 3 in a subscriber note published April 17, 2020: plts.co

This assessment appears in the Coal Trader International, Coal Trader and Power in Europe publications, as well as Global Coal Alert pages 410 and 425, and North American Coal Alert page 230 under the price database codes JKTCA00 (daily), JKTCA03 (monthly average) and JKTCA05 (quarterly average).
