SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts standardizes MGO, MDO assessment names globally

Singapore (Platts)--1Jul2018/1126 pm EDT/326 GMT S&P Global Platts has standardized the names of its marine gasoil and marine diesel assessments globally to more accurately reflect the sulfur content of the product being assessed, with effect from July 2, 2018.

In line with this change, Platts has also standardized the terminology used in headlines to describe bids, offers and transactions published during the Platts Market on Close assessment process for these assessments globally.

This follows a proposal note published September 22, 2017.

The methodology for these assessments, including the specifications, has not changed.

MARINE GASOIL 0.1%: Under this change, the following assessments, which reflect marine gasoil with a maximum sulfur content of 0.1% sulfur, have been renamed Marine Gasoil 0.1% with effect from July 2. In addition, bids, offers and transactions during the MOC process for the following assessments will have the prefix "MGO 0.1%":
