(Adds PCA pages effected by the time change)
Following a period of feedback after a formal proposal published May 4, 2016, as well as a previous public consultation and review period, Platts will amend the time stamp reflected in its Americas daily assessments for spot benzene (PHAAE00, AAKYD00, AAIUL00, AAIUN00, AAWDA00, AAWDB00), styrene (AAIKW00, AAJLW00) and all ethylene (AAOSR00, AAOSS00) to reflect a 5 pm EDT closing time. Cumene (AAQJC00) also would be reflective of the 5 pm EDT closing time as benzene factors into the assessment calculation.
Additionally, following the announcement that Platts is will move all oil assessments in the Americas to reflect a 2:30 pm EDT closing time, Platts Petrochemicals will change all other petrochemical assessments in the Americas to reflect the same 2:30 pm EDT closing time. Platts previously announced it would amend the timestamp reflected in its Americas daily spot methyl tertiary butyl ether (PHAKY00), toluene (PHAAR00, AASMY00) mixed xylene (PHBHN00, AASMZ00) and propylene (AAIKS00, PHAXJ04, PHAAA00) assessments to reflect a 2:30 pm EST close.
The change will be implemented July 1.
With the changes, the following PCA pages will be a effected: Daily propylene price assessments (AAIKS00, PHAXJ04, PHAAA00) will move from PCA 870 to PCA 311. The daily propylene commentary will move from PCA 1190 to PCA 1543. Daily price assessments for styrene (AAIKW00, AAJLW00) and cumene (AAQJC00) will move from PCA 208 to PCA 435. The daily styrene commentary will move from PCA 1168 to PCA 1192. Weekly assessments for aromatics with a 2:30 EDT close will appear on PCA 234. Weekly assessments for aromatics with a 5 p.m. EdT close will appear on PCA 448.
Previously, all Platts assessments in these petrochemical markets for the Americas reflect a closing value of 3:15 pm EDT. Platts launched a formal consultation into the closing time for its oil, petrochemicals and agriculture assessments in the Americas on January 26, 2016.
