Platts launches a restructured M2M Power product

Platts will launch its M2MS-Power product on July 1, 2013. This new product will provide M2MS Forward Curves daily for 120-months (10 years) for Power for all 48 Power hubs in North America, currently covered by the Platts M2M Power product. The M2MS-Power product will also contain as an add-on, daily 120-month Historical Volatility Curves for all of the hubs. Once a month, a 240-month (20-year) version of all forward and volatility curves will be provided. The curves will be broken up into five regional packages. A sixth package, containing the curves associated only with Platts editorial hubs, i.e. hubs for which Platts editors provide daily assessments of Power forward prices, will also be available. The M2MS-Power product will replace the currently produced M2M Power one. For subscribers to both M2MS-Power and M2MS-Gas packages, the deliveries will also contain as add-ons daily 120-month Heat Rate, Spark Spread and Historical Price Correlation curves. The curves will be calculated for all M2MS-Power hubs and selected M2MS-Gas hubs. Once a month 240-month (20-year) versions of all curves will also be produced. After the above mentioned product restructure Platts will be using three character market data categories to distribute M2MS Power and Gas data. The existing symbols will be distributed within the current two character and the new three character Market data categories until August 1, 2013 or an announced date when Platts will discontinue the two character Market data categories. All new symbols will be distributed only through three character Market data categories. These changes are reflected in above mentioned symbol files. These changes apply to M2Ms data only.
