Platts to remove ports from CIF Med naphtha

Effective January 2, 2013, Platts proposes to calculate the CIF Mediterranean naphtha assessment by only applying the freight value between Alexandria and Lavera to the FOB Med naphtha assessment.

This freight value will be calculated using the Platts cross Med clean tanker assessment for 27,500 mt naphtha cargoes only.

Currently the CIF Med naphtha assessment is calculated by applying the freight value between Alexandria and Lavera plus an allowance of $3/mt for port costs.

Platts proposes to remove the port costs from the calculation of this assessment.
