SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to review Indonesia's Minas crude assessment methodology

Singapore (Platts)--25Jun2018/1050 pm EDT/250 GMT Platts is reviewing the methodology of its assessments for Indonesia's Minas crude oil and invites submissions from interested parties to the review process.

Specifically, Platts is reviewing the suitability of continuing to assess the grade using a market-on-close assessment methodology or to move to a market adjusted gross product worth, or GPW, calculation methodology.

Production and exports of Minas crude have fallen in recent years from a peak of around 420,000 b/d to around 155,000 b/d currently.

The steep decline in production, coupled with continued domestic consumption has led to a significant fall in reported spot market liquidity for the grade.

Platts currently assesses Minas crude on an FOB Indonesia basis for two months forward with the assessment rolling on the 9th of each month or the forward closest working day.
