Platts to roll compliance period for its UK REGO assessments July 2

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will roll the compliance period reflected by its UK Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin, or REGO, price assessments July 2, 2025.

Platts rolls the compliance period reflected in its UK REGO assessments July 2 to reflect the trading of REGOs until they are counted by Ofgem for the Fuel Mix Disclosure -- the main use of these certificates.

This follows an update to Platts' methodology for the roll mechanism of its REGO assessments, which can be found in the subscriber note linked here.

While the compliance period is from July 2 of the current year to July 1 of the following year, Platts still takes into account REGOs produced from April 1 of the current year to March 31 of the following year.

From July 2, 2025 to July 1, 2026, Platts will be assessing the following compliance periods:

• Current compliance period REGOs: CP-24
• Compliance period+1 REGOs: CP-25
• Compliance period+2 REGOs: CP-26
