Following a period of industry feedback, Platts has decided to discontinue its New York Harbor on-road Low Sulfur Diesel barge and cargo assessments and its Boston on-road Low Sulfur Diesel cargo assessment effective August 2, 2010, with the last assessment published on July 30.
The discontinuation is due to the US Environmental Protection Agency ban on refiners producing 500 ppm low sulfur diesel fuel for domestic on-road use after June 1. Platts will continue to publish its off-road New York Harbor and Boston LS Diesel assessments.
The New York Harbor and Boston on-road LS Diesel cargo and barge assessments are published in US Marketscan, Oilgram Price Report, Platts Dispatch, and on Platts Global Alert page 14.
