Update: US acetone T2, T1 DER assessments

After further industry feedback, Platts will not discontinue the US acetone assessment basis T2 Delivered East of Rockies in $/mt, which had been proposed to end on July 5, 2011.

This assessment for truck/rail cargoes reflects the monthly contract transaction prices for acetone meant for used in the production of methyl methacrylate.

Feedback from participants has shown that there are a number of companies still involved in the trading of acetone T2 basis DER. As a result, Platts will continue to review this market, and will continue to publish this assessment on Platts Petrochemical Alert real-time service page 381 as well as in the weekly SolventsWire. The Oracle code for this assessment in AAHYC00. Related to this, Platts is seeking industry feedback to discontinue the US acetone assessment basis T1 Delivered East of Rockies in $/mt. The T1 reflects acetone for solvent use, sold in truckloads in the distribution market.
