Platts clarifies time stamp, descriptions of several forex assessments

S&P Global Platts wishes to clarify the description and time stamps of several foreign exchange rates assessments.

The time stamp of Platts US dollar to Japanese yen assessment (AAWFX00) is 16:30 Singapore time in line with other foreign exchange rate and commodity assessments in Asia.

Platts also clarifies that it expresses the base and the counter currency separated with a dash, slash or dot, and that:

• the code AAWFY00 represents the amount of Hong Kong dollars one US dollar can buy and the description should read as USD.HKD;

• the code AAWGA00 - the amount of Malaysian ringgit one US dollar can buy and the description should read as USD.MYR;

• the code AAWFZ00 - the amount of Singapore dollars one US dollar can buy and the description should read as USD.SGD;

• the code AAWFW00 - the amount of Chinese yuan one US dollar can buy and the description should read as USD.CNY;

• the code FRBUS00 - the amount of Russian ruble one US dollar can buy and the description should read as USD.RUB

Platts has also incorporated additional codes into its forex guide, which reflect forex pairs, assessed daily to the 11:30 London time stamp and used for conversion of rice assessments.
