Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has narrowed the location reflected in its FOB NWE SBR spot assessments to reflect all major Northwest European ports, basis Rotterdam, and no longer includes Italy and Spain, effective June 17.
Platts first proposed the change on April 21 in a subscriber note available here: https://www.spglobal.com/commodityinsights/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/042122-s-p-global-proposes-changes-to-european-styrene-butadiene-rubber-location-specifications.
Following the change, price information for Italy and Spain may still be taken into consideration and normalized to Rotterdam basis in the assessment process.
The assessments appear in Platts Petrochemical Alert pages PCA 752, 754, as well as in Olefinscan, Platts Platform, Platts Market Center and in Platts price database under the following codes: SBR: FOB NWE: AAWXB00, AAWXD00, AAWXF00, AAWXH00, AAWXJ00
