Platts proposes that effective October 19, 2015, Platts standard T2 ethanol FOB Rotterdam assessments will include a minimum greenhouse gas saving when compared to the fossil fuel comparator, as per the European Union's Fuel Quality Directive calculation.
Platts invites feedback regarding this proposal and the actual level which should be set for the minimum GHG saving spec for the standard T2 ethanol assessment.
Platts continues to monitor the activity and development of the European ethanol market in light of the change to the German domestic biofuel mandate and, will adapt its methodology as necessary to reflect standard spot market trade flows.
The fossil fuel comparator and greenhouse gas saving calculation reflected will be per the prevailing implementation of the Fuel Quality Directive in Germany. All other specifications will conform to the prevailing Renewable Energy Directive 2009/28/EC.
