S&P Global Platts has decided to discontinue the following daily and weekly parboiled and white rice assessments, and their related volatility assessments, effective August 23, 2021.
Thai 10% broken white rice: LRACA00: RVACA00
Thai 15% broken white rice: LRADD00: RVADD00
Thai Parboiled 100%: LRAHC00: RVAHC00
Thai Parboiled 5%: LRAJB00: RVAJB00
Vietnamese 10% broken white rice: LRBBA00: RVBBA00
Vietnamese 15% broken white rice: LRBCD00: RVBCD00
Pakistani 10% broken white rice: LRDBA00: RVDBA00
Pakistani 15% broken white rice: LRDCD00: RVDCD00
Pakistani Parboiled 15% STX: LRDHG00; RVHG00
US #3, 15% broken white rice: LRICD00; RVICD00
US #5, 20% broken white rice: LRIDF00; RVIDF00
Trade of these grades is limited, and Platts understands that their value is typically understood by reference to more liquid rice grades.
For example, Platts' daily assessment of Thai Parboiled 100% STX, which will continue to be assessed, is used by many market participants as a basis to derive representative prices for both Thai Parboiled 100% and Thai Parboiled 5%.
These assessments are published on Platts Agricultural Alert page PAA0602, PAA2400, PAA2401, PAA2404, PAA2414, PAA3000, PAA3003 and PAA3005.
