S&P Global Platts wishes to clarify that it will reflect bids, offers and trades that specify a maximum organic chloride content for CIF Northwest European naphtha cargoes in its Market on Close assessment process.
This follows industry feedback over merchantability of open specification naphtha with organic chloride requirements that are lower than the mandated max 10 ppm concentration.
The Platts CIF NWE naphtha cargo assessment will continue to reflect standard open specification material and indications with specified chloride levels may be normalized to the benchmark specification.
Please send feedback and comments to europe_products@spglobal.com and pricegroup@spglobal.com.
For written comments, please provide a clear indication if comments are not intended for publication by S&P Global Platts for public viewing. Platts will consider all comments received and will make comments not marked as confidential available upon request.
