S&P Global Platts proposes publishing two new daily Panamax dry bulk grains freight assessments, reflecting the growing trade for grains from the Black Sea and Argentina to the Far East, effective August 3, 2020.
The following new assessments are proposed:
Odessa, Ukraine to Qingdao, China, 60,000 mt grains
Bahia Blanca, Argentina to Qingdao, China, 60,000 mt grains
The assessments would be based on modern Kamsarmax tonnage and reflect the cost of transporting a 60,000 mt (plus/minus 10%) grains cargo on a 81,000 dwt Kamsarmax dry bulk vessel from loading port to discharge port and would be published on a dollar per metric ton basis.
