SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Duplicative steel price series to merge for simplicity, easier access

As part of its ongoing initiative to enhance the customer experience, harmonize and integrate steel, scrap, and other raw material prices published by both Platts and the former SBB (following the Platts acquisition of SBB on July 1, 2011), Platts proposes effective August 1, 2013 that only the Platts symbols (codes) will apply to the following 22 duplicative price series. This will make searching for the price series more efficient. To be clear: None of the price series are being discontinued. Rather, the manner in which they are referenced by customers will change to make access easier. What's more, the former SBB series will continue to be available -- but only as historic data from the Price Analyzer and Platts Market Data. This proposal means new price names, symbols and frequency will apply (below), going forward from August 1 (the corresponding old names and symbols follow, also included for reference).
