Platts had previously announced that it would discontinue its Group 3 on-road LS Diesel assessments to coincide with Magellan Pipeline's last shipment day for on-road LSD.
As of June 9, Magellan has announced that effective June 15, it will no longer accept shipments of on-road low sulfur diesel throughout the majority of its system.
Platts will cease assessing Group 3 on-road LSD on June 15, 2010, with the last assessment published on June 14, 2010.
The discontinuation is due to the US Environmental Protection Agency ban on refiners producing 500 ppm low sulfur diesel fuel for domestic on-road use after June 1.
The Group 3 on-road LSD assessment is published on Platts Global Alert page 18, US Marketscan, Oilgram Price Report, and Platts Dispatch.
