Please note the Platts 88 grade instrument published through the Market On Close eWindow process represents undyed heating oil, in line with general market convention and Platts assessment methodology. As such, Platts will treat any 88 grade bid, offer and marked interest as information to be used to assess undyed heating oil in the US Gulf Coast. This clarification is prompted by changes in fees implemented by Colonial Pipeline Company, which now charges a 10 cent/barrel regrade fee to shippers who want to change the grade of their product in transit through its pipeline system. Platts is considering renaming the Platts 88 grade eWindow instrument to Platts 77 grade, reflecting nomenclature on the Colonial Pipeline that is specific to undyed heating oil. Please send any comments or questions to americas_products@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com. For written comments, please provide a clear indication if comments are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing. Platts will consider all comments received and will make comments not marked as confidential available upon request.
