SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts, Kingsman to upgrade weekly biodiesel report

Effective July 24, Platts and Kingsman will introduce a series of enhancements to the weekly biodiesel report, which will provide greater clarity and insight into waste biodiesel markets, as well as more of the upstream and downstream indicators that are essential to understanding changing global market fundamentals and interpreting Platts time sensitive price assessments.

As part of this process, Platts proposes to discontinue some assessments from the weekly report. For the full list of proposed discontinuations, please see below.

Further, Platts proposes to replace the current front-page indicators for TME and UCOME FOB NWE with a section listing TME and UCOME price indications heard during the reporting week.

Price indications in the forms of bids, offers and trades heard in the market for waste biodiesel will be published time-stamped and in full detail, enabling a more granular understanding of market developments.

Feedstock UCO and tallow indications will also be removed from the front page and included in the new section of indications heard in the market.

In addition, crude palm oil (CPO), palm fatty acid distillate (PFAD) and crude and refined glycerine will be included in the heards section, replacing the current front-page indicators.

The following time sensitive Platts futures and foreign exchange market assessments will be added to the report:

CBOT Soybean Oil futures at London Market on Close

CBOT Soybean Oil futures at Houston Market on Close

Euro/US Dollar foreign exchange rate at London Market on Close

Malaysian Ringit/US Dollar foreign exchange rate at Singapore Market on Close

CBOT Soybean Oil futures minus ICE Gasoil futures, in $/mt, at London Market on Close

Platts will also discontinue the following price indicators entirely from the report, effective July 24: Biodiesel Germany ex-works

Rapeseed Oil ex-Dutch mill

Soybean Oil ex-Dutch mill

RBD Palm Oil CIF Rotterdam

Crude Soybean Oil FOB Argentina
