SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts corrects assumption in 'UK's Rough gas storage refill rates point to Winter 15 shortfall'

Platts wishes to correct elements of the story titled "UK's Rough gas storage refill rates point to Winter 15 shortfall" published June 5 on page 112 of European Power Alert and in the June 8 edition of European Gas Daily. The article touched on Centrica Storage Ltd's application to reduce the Lower DECC Consent and assumed that, if the application was successful, injection rates would need to be higher in order to refill the Rough reservoir in time for the Winter 15 withdrawal season. That assumption was inaccurate. If the technical "zero" stock volume for the Rough facility is lowered from minus 35 Bcf to minus 50 Bcf, refill rates would be identical given that the gas would already be in the reservoir and would therefore not affect injection rates in 2015. The assumption remains that the capacity constraints currently in place could be removed, with the limits on the maximum capacity in the Rough reservoir set to last up to six months as of March 30, according to Centrica Storage Ltd., potentially allowing for injections in October. The chart titled "Injection rates required to reach 100% capacity on November 1" will be updated accordingly in the June 9 edition of European Gas Daily.
