SUBSCRIBER NOTE: S&P Global Platts proposes to discontinue 10 EMEA steel assessments

S&P Global Platts is proposing to discontinue 10 of its EMEA steel assessments on September 3, 2018, due to changes in product flows and production. The last assessment day would be on August 31, 2018. Platts is seeking feedback on this proposal by June 22, 2018.

Namely the assessments S&P Global Platts is proposing to discontinue are

CFR Middle East Rebar (SB01201) CFR HDG Middle East (SB01122) CIF Medium Sections S. Europe (SB01161) DDP Europe Wire Rod Mesh Quality (SB01246) CIF S. Europe Wire Rod Mesh Quality (SB01247) CIF Antwerp Plate (STPRA00, STPRA03) DDP Welded Tube Europe (SB01258) DDP N. Europe Engineering Steel (SB01102) EXW S. Europe Plate (SB01185) CIF HDG S. Europe (SB01121)

S&P Global Platts is proposing to discontinue these assessments as a result of changing market dynamics and a lack of spot trading activity in the above mentioned markets.
