Please note that effective June 8, 2017, S&P Global Platts will update the polarization normalization in the Spot Ex-mill Ribeirao Hydrous expressed as Raw Sugar equivalent assessment. The update follows a change by the Intercontinental Exchange to the New York Sugar No. 11 futures contract to the price normalization of different sugar polarizations expressed as a percentage.
Platts assumes a sugar polarization of between 99.2 and 99.3 pol for this assessment. The ICE NY11 sugar futures contract has an average polarization of 96 degrees. Therefore, to compare the Platts assessment to the NY11 sugar futures contract, a price normalization of 4.20% must be added to the value. This is an increase from the 4.05% that was previously applied.
The Spot Ex-mill Ribeirao Hydrous expressed as Raw Sugar equivalent assessment appears in the Platts Biofuelscan, Weekly Global Ethanol Report and on the Platts real time alert services PBF under code AAXOA00 and on page 226.
