Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will launch two new daily assessments for South China and East China domestic Used Cooking Oil (UCO), effective July 1, 2025.
Following the launch of Platts North China UCO daily assessment on Oct. 1, 2024, Platts has received market feedback on the additional need for price assessments in South China and East China.
The new South China and East China UCO assessments will reflect an Acid Value less than or equal to 15 mg KOH/g, with a maximum of 7% free fatty acids (FFA), and a maximum of 2% moisture, impurities, and unsaponifiable (MIU).
The new assessments will reflect 500-1,000 mt. Other volumes may be considered, but will be normalized back to the assessed volume range.
The South China UCO domestic assessment will reflect UCO delivered one to seven days forward from the date of publication, on a delivered at place (DAP) basis Nansha port, other ports in South China including Dongguan and Fangcheng port, may be normalized back to the basis location.
The East China UCO domestic assessment will reflect UCO delivered one to seven days forward from the date of publication, on a DAP basis Nantong port, other ports in East China including port of Lianyungang, Taizhou and Wenzhou, may be normalized back to the basis location.
All the new assessments will reflect the products inclusive of 13% Value-added Tax (VAT) and where prepayment is done through telegraphic transfer or cash, before the transfer of the product.
The UCO DAP Nansha port, South China and UCO DAP Nantong port, East China, assessments will be published on an outright basis in Chinese Yuan and converted into US dollars per metric ton using the relevant US dollar/Chinese Yuan exchange rate (AAWFW00).
The new assessments will reflect a 1630 Penang timestamp and follow the Penang publishing calendar on a daily basis.
The assessments are published on Platts Biofuels Alert pages 2310, 2311 and 2312, in daily Platts Biofuelscan and Weekly Biomass-Based Diesel Report.
