June 05, 2025
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has amended the specifications of its CFR India Diammonium Phosphate assessment, effective June 5, 2025.
Platts made changes to duty status, quantity, timing, and basis and location specifications of the assessment. The changes are intended to provide a more precise assessment of market value.
Duty, quantity, timing, and basis and location specifications
The assessment is refined to be duty-unpaid dutiable DAP incurring the standard rate of duty, currently 5%.
Price information related to duty-unpaid dutiable DAP that incurs a different duty percentage and duty-free DAP is normalized to this basis, where applicable and possible.
Platts also changed the quantity specification to a basis of 25,000 mt to 50,000 mt to better reflect typical transaction sizes. Platts normalizes information to this point where necessary. The weekly assessment used to reflect a minimum 6,000 mt clip size.
The location specification of the assessment has also been narrowed, with Mundra on the West Coast of India as a basis, and price information relating to other relevant Indian ports normalized to this point where applicable and possible.
Platts launched a single number close value for the assessment, with standardized high and low ranges $1/mt above (high) and below (low) the close value.
The revised specifications for the assessment read as follows:
FDPBJ04 -- Diammonium Phosphate CFR India $/mt Weekly |
· Quality: DAP with nitrogen content of 18%, a standard P205 content of 46%, and a maximum moisture content of 2.5% |
· Quantity: Basis 25,000 mt to 50,000 mt |
· Basis and location: Duty unpaid spot product that incurs the standard rate of Indian import duty, CFR Mundra |
· Timing: Shipment 5 to 30 days forward |
· Frequency: Weekly, every Thursday |
· Unit of assessment: US $/mt |
