Following feedback from the market, Platts has extended the feedback period for its proposed West African gasoline marker. As described in a subscriber note on January 9, 2014, Platts proposes to begin publishing a daily marker for gasoline delivered into West Africa, calculated as a freight net-forward from Platts Premium gasoline 10 ppm gasoline FOB Rotterdam barge assessment (PGABM00). The new assessment would be launched with effect from September 1, 2014, and be based on a basket of four Worldscale flat rates; Amsterdam-Lome, Rotterdam-Lome, Amsterdam-Lagos and Rotterdam-Lagos. The 2014 Worldscale flat rate used to calculate the net-forward formula for the assessment is $18.74/mt. The new assessment, titled West African gasoline marker, would be calculated by multiplying the Worldscale flat rate by the Platts daily tanker rate assessment for UKC-West Africa 37,000 mt cargoes (PFAMH00) and adding this to the daily Platts Premium gasoline 10 ppm gasoline FOB Rotterdam barge assessment (PGABM00). Please send all feedback and questions by July 7 to europe_products@platts.com, with a cc to pricegroup@platts.com. For written comments, please provide a clear indication if they are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing. Platts will consider all comments received and will make comments not marked as confidential available upon request.
