Platts discontinues 18 global fertilizer freight assessments, effective June 2

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has discontinued 18 weekly dry bulk and liquid fertilizer freight assessments, effective June 2, 2025.

As the market continues to evolve, Platts will consider the most relevant and liquid markets, as evidenced by Platts trade flow software, S&P Global Commodities at Sea, along with extensive input from sources.

The discontinuations stem from shifts in fertilizer trade flows.

Platts is integrating a wider range of relevant existing freight assessments into the affected PDF publications, effective June 5, as announced in a subscriber note available here.

Platts originally proposed the discontinuation of 19 fertilizer freight assessments on March 3 in a subscriber note available here.

Platts then announced its decision to discontinue 18 fertilizer freight assessments on April 23 in a subscriber note available here.
