Platts proposes to discontinue 19 global fertilizer freight assessments June 2

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, proposes to discontinue 19 weekly dry bulk and liquid fertilizer freight assessments, effective June 2, 2025.

As the market continues to evolve, Platts will consider the most relevant and liquid markets, as evidenced by Platts trade flow software, S&P Global Commodities at Sea, along with extensive market surveys. The proposed discontinuations stem from shifts in fertilizer trade flows.

Additionally, Platts may explore offering more relevant freight assessments in the affected PDF publications in the future as part of a subsequent proposal.
