Platts updates basis location for White Rose crude cargo assessment

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has changed the basis location of its White Rose crude cargo assessment to FOB Whiffen Head, Newfoundland, effective June 1, 2022.

The basis for this assessment was FOB the Sea Rose terminal in Newfoundland, but market feedback and an analysis of vessel loading data have indicated cargoes typically load from the Whiffen Head terminal. Hibernia and Terra Nova, Platts' other two Eastern Canadian cargo assessments, are assessed FOB Whiffen Head.

Platts launched a Hebron crude cargo assessment on June 1, 2022, that is also FOB Whiffen Head. The White Rose crude cargo symbols and other methodology, including delivery period and volume, remain unchanged.
