S&P Global Platts has launched a new US Gulf Coast Aframax overtime lightering assessment basis 500,000 barrels, effective June 1, 2020.
Platts first proposed this new assessment in a subscriber note published April 8, 2020: https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/040820-platts-proposes-usgc-aframax-overtime-lightering-assessment.
The new assessment reflects overtime charges for reverse lightering activity onto larger-than-Aframax vessels taking in excess of the standard three days included in a full-service lump-sum lightering contract, due to capacity constraints and weather restrictions.
Symbols are as follows:

These assessments appear on Platts Global Alert pages 1972 and 1963; on Platts Shipping Alert pages 2440 and 2441; in the Dirty Tankerwire and in the Platts price database under the codes above.
