S&P Global Platts has published a daily sulfur differential for thermal coal in Asia from June 1, 2020.
The differential reflects the value of sulfur as a penalty or premium per 0.1% across various grades of coal expressed in $/mt at the close of Asian trade, 5:30 pm Singapore time (0930 GMT) and follows the Singapore publishing schedule.
The value will be used to normalize various grades of physical coal with varying sulfur content also published by Platts.
The differential appears in Platts Coal Trader International, Platts Coal Alert pages 410 and 425 under the following price database codes: TCSDA00 (daily), TCSDA03 (monthly average) and TCSDA05 (quarterly average).
Platts is constantly reviewing its methodology to ensure assessments reflect standard traded parameters in a given market.
