Subscriber note: Name change for US heating oil futures

Please note that Platts will update references to "NYMEX heating oil" or "NYMEX No. 2 oil" to reflect the new name "NYMEX NY ULSD" with effect from June 3, 2013, in order to reflect a recent revision in the contract by the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. The NYMEX heating oil contract switched to an ultra low sulfur diesel specification effective with the May 2013 contract. NYMEX parent CME Group has announced that it will amend the names of all heating oil products to reflect the ULSD specification starting June 3, 2013. While the NYMEX heating oil contract was changed to ULSD, the contract designation, HO, has not been changed. Please send any comments to oilgroup@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com.
