Platts to introduce NWE SBR assessments with effect from September 1, 2012

Platts is proposing to introduce European spot assessments for emulsion and solution styrene butadiene rubber from September 1, 2012. The proposed assessments will reflect inland weekly spot transactions on an FD NWE basis. These assessments will reflect standard parcel lots of 100-200 mt or 10-20 containers and will be expressed in Eur/mt for 30-60 day LC credit terms, for delivery 3-30 days forward. In addition, Platts also is proposing to introduce spot assessments on an FOB NWE basis to reflect export transactions. The FOB assessments will be expressed in $/mt, for volumes of 500 mt and above at 30-days LC at sight, also for 3-30 days forward delivery terms. All spot assessments would reflect clear emulsion-grade SBR 1500 and 1502 grades, and oil-extended 1783 and 1723 grades. Platts will also assess solution-grade SBR oil-extended 5025 grade. All price assessments will reflect the close of European markets, time stamped at 16:30 GMT subject to the typical guidelines of the Platts Market on Close assessment process.
