As previously announced, Platts is discontinuing its daily assessment for the FirstEnergy Hub effective May 31. The point no longer will function as a trading hub as of that date.
FirstEnergy is moving from the Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator to the PJM Interconnection effective June 1. MISO established the FirstEnergy Hub as a trading hub April 1, 2007, but PJM has no plans to continue operating the FirstEnergy Hub as a trading hub following FirstEnergy's move into its footprint.
The FirstEnergy assessment is published in Megawatt Daily and Platts Energy Trader and on Platts Electricity Alert page 502. It is also available with other electricity assessments through Platts Dispatch services under Dispatch category ES.
The final assessment for the hub will be for trade date May 30, 2011 and flow date May 31, 2011.
