Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will launch eWindow instruments for the 7.8 RVP gasoline grades in Chicago as differentials against front-month NYMEX RBOB futures, effective June 2, following the implementation of a removed RVP waiver in six Midwest states earlier this year.
The addition of the new eWindow instruments follows previously announced changes to Platts Midwest gasoline assessments resulting from the RVP waiver removal. Following extensive consultation with the market, the changes to the assessments were announced on Dec. 30, 2024, in a subscriber note available here(opens in a new tab). The launch of related new assessments was announced on Feb. 3, 2025, in a note found here(opens in a new tab).
The new eWindow instruments will appear as follows:
Platts Gasoline CBOB 7.8 RVP | Chicago Badger | Jan C01 - Dec C03 |
Platts Gasoline CBOB 7.8 RVP | Chicago Westshore | Jan C01 - Dec C03 |
Platts Gasoline P-91 7.8 RVP | Chicago Badger | Jan C01 - Dec C03 |
Platts Gasoline P-91 7.8 RVP | Chicago Westshore | Jan C01 - Dec C03 |
The launch relates to eWindow instruments for the rolling cycle strip.
Approved participants in the Platts Market on Close assessment process are able to submit bids or offers for publication directly through the eWindow communication tool or through an editor who would then publish the bids and offers using the software.
