As part of its annual review of the Nonferrous metals specifications guide, S&P Global Platts wishes to clarify certain specification details for its US calcined petcoke, aluminum, base metals, PGMs and minor metals assessments, as follows:

CALCINED PETCOKE (CPC) (MMXEV00): The assessment reflects material containing 2.5%-3% Sulfur, 300-400 ppm Vanadium, loading 30-60 days forward with payment net 30-60 days after bill of lading.

ALUMINUM: All US aluminum premium assessments and all-in values, including for MW US Market (MMAAE00), MW US Transaction premium (MMAKE00), MW US Net-cash premium (MMACN00), P1020A US import duty (MMOEU00), Implied-duty-unpaid (MMOFU00), CIF New Orleans premium (MMODU00) and Six-Months premium (MMANJ04) reflect min. 99.7% high-grade aluminum, P1020A. These assessments reflect spot values at 1630 US Eastern time, apart from the last business day of the month and some US holidays. Minimum volumes are specified as 25 mt for six-month forward assessment and a full truckload for 6063 billet assessment.

ALUMINUM SCRAP: All aluminum scrap assessments are basis net-30-day payment. For the High-grade auto shreds assessment (AASSP00), Platts considers product generated through a heavy media-based separation process, containing at least 98% metallics and not more than 1% free zinc and max 0.40% magnesium, with quality comparable with the following suppliers: Huron Valley, Ferrous Processing/SLC Recycling and Fort Wayne OmniSource Corp.

COPPER: Copper assessments in the US reflect typical volumes of 200-1,000 mt against cash payments.

COPPER SCRAP: The Copper No. 1 Burnt Scrap Discount (MMACJ10) is for typical 97%-98% Cu; Copper No. Bare Bright Discount (MMACL10) is for typical 98%-99% Cu, and Copper No. 2 Birch/Cliff Scrap Scrap Discount (MMACN10) is for typical 94%-96% Cu. For lead scrap assessments, Platts takes into account price information for material meeting standard specifications, surveying various market participants, including scrap yards.

MAGNESIUM: For the 99.8% assessments (MMAHM00 and MMAHQ00) Platts reflects material meeting standard specifications, including, but not limited to, the product delivered for consumption in the aluminum alloying and magnesium ferrosilicon segments.
