SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts replaces European power assessments with exchange data

Effective Tuesday, May 29, 2018, S&P Global Platts has replaced French, German and Italian power assessments with EEX exchange settlement prices, and Spanish power assessments with OMIP exchange settlement prices.

Following industry consultation, Platts took the decision in light of the continuing shift in market dynamics towards exchanges in Europe and the increased price transparency provided by exchanges.

Platts remains committed to providing quality market information, commentary and in-depth analysis in all European power markets and will continue reporting on the above markets' activity, news, events and policy.

All affected Platts codes and symbols have been discontinued and replaced with exchange settlement price codes.

The discontinued codes and symbols are listed below. Replacement codes are available upon request.

For some price assessments where there are no corresponding exchange data, Platts has discontinued the assessments with no replacement data available.

Associated monthly average symbols in Market Data category EE and dynamic symbols in Market Data category PE have been replaced with exchange data along with the associated spark and clean spark spreads derived using the settlement prices.
