Following industry feedback and latest market developments, Platts will suspend its planned launch of a new US Gulf Coast ultra low sulfur diesel assessment to reflect the value of ULSD containing up to 5% renewable diesel at the point of origin of the Colonial Pipeline system. Platts will continue to monitor market conditions, and will review the potential for such an assessment in the future.
In a subscriber note published on May 10, 2012, Platts proposed to launch the assessment with effect from June 1. The new assessment was to be called US Gulf Coast "ULSD (with renewable diesel)".
The specifications for Platts' existing US Gulf Coast ULSD assessments remain unchanged, and will continue to reflect hydrocarbon-only ULSD.
