Platts removes PME from the FAME-10 calculation, May 27

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has amended the methodology it uses to calculate its FAME-10 FOB ARA assessment to better reflect blend ratios in the market, effective May 27, 2025.

Platts has removed the Palm Methyl Ester FOB Amsterdam Rotterdam Antwerp (AAXNY00) biodiesel assessment from the calculation of FAME-10 FOB ARA (AAWGH00) assessment. This reflects limited use of PME in the European markets, including for the blending of FAME-10.

Platts now bases the FAME-10 calculation on the following two paths based on economic viability:

10% FAME and 90% RME (AAXNT00 and AAXNU00)

15% SME and 85% RME (AAXNX00 and AAXNU00)

Platts first proposed these changes on March 21, in a subscriber note available here.(opens in a new tab)
